Where to live in Barcelona
Sant Cugat del Valles PDF Afdrukken E-mailadres

Many expatriates choose to live here in Sant Cugat. The prices is lower than in Barcelona and the train runs every 3 minutes into the city. This is a place for families who are here for a longer time. This city is located 15 kms to the north and inland from Barcelona, with excellent public transport links to the centre of town, offers a different type of out-of-town living.

The population is much less subject to seasonal variations. Much of the property is owner-occupied. It is a pleasant middle-class town, situated close to motorways. All needs (other than cultural ones) can be met locally. For those who want to integrate into Catalan town life, within relatively easy reach of the center, this may be the area to look. Good quality properties, although few and far between, are considerably cheaper than in town.

Sant Just and Esplugues de Llobregat PDF Afdrukken E-mailadres
The neighbouring towns of Sant Just and Esplugues are small villages which are no longer really separated from Barcelona proper, offering more individual and terraced housing, at very high rents and purchase prices. They are popular inland residential communities that have detached and semi-detached homes with only a few apartment blocks. This is a hilly area with good views of Barcelona and the sea, and it is near the German school and the American school. Private transport is necessary, as the public transport is limited to buses. There are many local shops, and the area is only 5-10 minutes from the best shopping in Barcelona.

Pedralbes, Sarri?, Tres Torres, Sant Gervasi and Bonanova.

The diverse neighborhoods of Zona Alta offer a more tranquil, small town atmosphere and some outstanding views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. If you are looking for a house with a garden instead of a flat, this is probably your best bet! The higher parts of Sarri? offer many magnificent old mansions, however sadly they are often in need of major restoration.
